MUSCAT, DEC 3
A group of 13 passionate riders rode from Al Qurum roundabout to Al Mouj roundabout and back last month, sending out strong messages of healthy living commemorating Oman’s 54th National Day.
“We are aiming at sending out the importance of healthy living commemorating Oman’s 54th National Day and to encourage the environmental protection carried out by Oman today along with a campaign against the use of carbon which needs to be completely reduced,” said Abdul Aziz, coordinator of the Malayalee Riders Group.
The ride was organised to further promote cycling.
In January, in connection with the 70th Republic Day of India, the Malayali Riders completed 75 km of cycling.
“Our ride calling for healthy living on a special occasion like the national Day wouldn’t have been possible without the support of the local authorities and the cycling signs on the streets, especially on the November 18 Street, were really helpful,” Aziz said.
