MUSCAT: The Oman military team achieved gold medal in its first participation in the 24th edition of World Military Showjumping Championship in Qatar, organised by the International Military Sports Council (CISM), with the participation of 15 countries around the world from November 27 to 30.
The gold medal was claimed by knight ‘Sergeant’ Madin bin Said al Yousfi from the Royal Cavalry, after securing a time of 45.66 seconds without errors on the back of 'Hari Ab', followed in second place by the Emirati knight ‘First Lieutenant’ Said al Mazmi with 47.14 seconds, and Italian Berremo Graduato finished third in 47.62 seconds.
'Heroes De La Garde' snatches Zayed Cup
On the other hand, 'Heroes De La Garde' secured a distinguished achievement at the Abu Dhabi Racing Club track in the UAE for a distance of 1,600 metres ‘grass’.
'Heroes De La Garde' snatched the title of the Zayed Cup for the UAE National Day, the horse owned by Shaikh Nasser bin Mohammed al Hashar, under the supervision of Ibrahim bin Zaher al Hadhrami and the leadership of Conor Beasley.
'Heroes De La Garde' added this victory to the recent award for the best Arabian horse in the third edition of the Emirates Racing Authority Awards ceremony held in November.
