Other projects
The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (MTCIT), and Asyad Group have signed an agreement to manage, operate, and develop the Port Sultan Qaboos (PSQ) in Muscat.
The agreement, which is important to promote tourism and commercial activities, local economic development, improve logistics connectivity, and attract foreign investment, will include preparing a feasibility study for the development, management, and operation of Port Sultan Qaboos.
The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism has also unveiled plans to give a facelift to the front facade of Muttrah Souq, one of the important landmarks of the capital.
The ministry said that the scope of the work will include studying the visual distortions in the front facade finding the necessary solutions, and implementing architectural and detailed designs to hide these distortions in coordination with the relevant authorities.
Other cable car projects in Oman
Located just around 35 km from Muscat International Airport, the upcoming Oman Botanic Project in Al Khoud will also offers a cable car experience to visitors.
The South Batinah Governorate is also working on a cable car leading to the Wakan area in Wadi Mistal in the Wilayat of Nakha, which has been witnessing a great visitor turnout as it is one of the most wonderful tourist attractions. It combines a mountainous and plain nature and boasts archaeological landmarks that are deeply rooted in history.
His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik during the cabinet meeting in January had issued instructions to set a timeframe for the development of the Al Jabal Al Abyad area and the village of Wakan with the prime aim of providing basic infrastructure and appropriate conditions to make use of the areas’ potential and their tourism landmarks.
