MUSCAT: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik will go on a state-visit to the Republic of Türkiye on Thursday.


A statement in this regard was issued by the Diwan of Royal Court to this effect. “Within the context of the advanced relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Türkiye and the keenness to promote areas of cooperation and pushing them towards wider horizons, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik will go on a state-visit to Türkiye with effect from Thursday in response to an invitation from President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of the Republic of Türkiye.


"The visit will explore aspects of the existing cooperation in various spheres to serve the two countries’ interests and meet their aspirations. The two leaders will exchange views on a set of regional and international developments."


Meanwhile, the Turkish capital Ankara is fully prepared to receive His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik who will be on a state visit to the Republic of Türkiye on Thursday.


His Majesty’s state visit will be the first-of- its-kind since the start of diplomatic relations between the two friendly countries and it comes in response to a kind invitation extended to His Majesty by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.


During the visit, His Majesty will hold an official session of talks with the President of the Republic of Türkiye and sign a number of agreements and memoranda of understanding. His Majesty will also visit some historical and cultural landmarks in capital Ankara.


The two countries are keen on using His Majesty’s visit to Türkiye to further fostering partnerships and cooperation and opening new horizons for investing in various fields including technology, innovation, health, maritime transport, ports, energy, transport, food security and petrochemicals in addition to reviewing the opportunities available in economic zones and industrial cities.
