The South Korean artist, Oh Myung Hee, is all set to bring a message of Shared Humanity to Oman with her new solo exhibition to be held at Bait Muzna, ‘We Are All Flowers from the Same Garden; Reflections 2014-2024’. The exhibition is to be held between December 3 and January 2.

Bait Muzna Gallery, in collaboration with Metamorphosis Art Projects London, announced the highly anticipated Middle Eastern launch of “We Are All Flowers from the Same Garden,” a solo retrospective exhibition by the renowned South Korean artist Oh Myung Hee.

Under the patronage of Sayyida Susan Al Said, Oh Myung Hee is exhibiting for the very first time in Oman. This solo retrospective is expected to celebrate a decade of Oh Myung Hee’s artistic exploration, using the garden as a metaphor for diversity, harmony, and interconnectedness.

Her work incorporates traditional Korean elements and modern materials, creating a wholly unique contemporary artistic language that reflects cycles of nature, the evolving roles of women, and the interplay between permanence and the ephemeral. This exhibition also celebrates 50 years of diplomatic relations between South Korea and Oman and Ambassador Kiejoo Kim is expected to inaugurate the exhibition on 3rd December in Muscat under the auspices of HH Dr Sayyida Mona bint Fahad al Said, award-winning humanitarian and strategist for academic development and cultural preservation.

“We are honored to present Oh Myung Hee’s work at Bait Muzna Gallery,” said Sayyida Susan Al Said, the gallery’s founder; added, “This exhibition serves as a powerful reminder that despite our differences, we are all connected through our shared humanity.” The exhibition seeks to foster greater cultural understanding between the two nations. Through Oh Myung Hee’s art, the exhibition aims to build bridges between South Korean and Omani audiences, highlighting shared values, heritage, and the collective human experience, said the organizers.

This exhibition invites viewers into a metaphorical garden, a dynamic space where unity emerges from diversity and humanity thrives in its collective beauty. “We Are All Flowers From The Same Garden” underscores the transformative power of art to transcend boundaries and bring people together.

Oh Myung Hee, is known for her evocative three-dimensional works, videos, and multimedia installations that combine traditional Korean materials such as mother-of-pearl, eggshell, and lacquer with contemporary themes. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including at The Nairobi National Museum Kenya, Saatchi Gallery London, the 59th Venice Biennale, and Museum San, Wonju Korea. Now, she brings her visionary art to Oman, marking a significant moment in cross-cultural exchange between South Korea and the Middle East.
