MUSCAT: The 11th round of the 2024/2025 Oman Professional League will resume on Monday following an international break, during which the national football team participated in the AFC Asian qualifiers – Road to 26. This round promises intense and thrilling matchups as teams aim to strengthen their positions on the league table.
The round kicks off with two matches. The first tie will be between Al Seeb and Al Nasr at Al Saada Sports Complex. Al Nasr, sitting in 4th place with 14 points, are looking to consolidate their position. On the other hand, Al Seeb enter the match as the league's second-placed team with 21 points, trailing leaders Al Nahdha by 4 points but with two matches in hand, which could help them reclaim the top spot. Al Seeb aim for their 8th win of the season, despite the challenge of playing away, to maintain pressure on Al Nahdha.
The second game features Oman Club facing Sohar at Seeb Stadium. Oman Club, currently in 3rd place with 18 points, seek their 6th win to boost their tally to 21 points and secure their position. Sohar, in 9th place with 9 points, are striving for their 3rd win of the season to climb temporarily to 5th. Sohar’s win in the previous round fuels their ambition to achieve a positive result against Oman Club.
The 11th round will continue on Tuesday with two games. In the first match, Sur take on Saham at Sohar Sports Complex. Sur enter the match with high morale after their win in the previous round and aim to secure points to move away from the relegation zone. They currently sit in 11th place with 7 points. Meanwhile, Saham, in 6th place with 10 points, look to secure a victory and edge closer to the top positions.
The second match sees Al Rustaq facing Al Nahdha at Al Rustaq Sports Complex. League leaders Al Nahdha, with 25 points, seek to maintain their unbeaten record and extend their positive run. Conversely, Al Rustaq, languishing in last place with 4 points, are desperate for their first win to escape the bottom of the table.
The round will wrap up on Wednesday with two crucial games. In the first, Bahla will face Al Shabab at Al Rustaq Sports Complex. Bahla, sitting in 8th place with 9 points, look to climb higher, while Al Shabab, in 10th place with 7 points, aim to recover from two consecutive losses and satisfy their fans with a positive result.
In the second game, Ibri host Al Khabourah at Ibri Sports Complex. Both teams share 10 points, with Al Khabourah in 5th and Ibri in 7th. Al Khabourah aim to challenge Al Nasr for 4th place, while Ibri hope to leverage home advantage to secure a win and improve their standing.
