MUSCAT: The St. Regis Al Mouj Muscat Resort, renowned for its elegance and luxurious offerings, recently transformed into a vibrant hub of youthful energy as it celebrated World Children’s Day with an unforgettable “takeover” event. This day saw 30 enthusiastic children aged 9 to 15 stepping into key roles across the resort, immersing themselves in the dynamic world of luxury hospitality under the expert guidance of the resort’s dedicated team.

This exquisite takeover allowed participants to experience firsthand the intricacies of delivering exceptional service. With the Guest Relations, they greeted guests with genuine warmth and professionalism, creating a welcoming atmosphere that set the tone for a memorable stay. The young hoteliers also delved into the renowned St. Regis Butler Service, learning the art of anticipatory service that elevates the guest experience to new heights. They discovered the philosophy behind the St. Regis motto “Allow me”, which embodies the brand’s commitment to personalized service.

Culinary creativity took center stage as participants engaged in delightful pastry-making activities at Zorba, dim sum artistry at Hakkasan Muscat and service at The Lobby Lounge. Not only did they whip up delectable treats, but they also had the chance to serve them to guests, gaining invaluable insights into culinary operations and the nuances of hospitality. Their adventures didn’t stop there; they also assisted with event planning and marketing, honing their skills in crafting unforgettable experiences for visitors.

The excitement continued with exhilarating recreation activities, where participants enjoyed water sports and lifeguarding, experiencing the thrill of poolside service in action. A unique highlight was their opportunity to shadow the Human Resources team, offering them a glimpse into leadership and strategic decision-making that drives the resort’s success.

Jason Xuereb, Hotel Manager at The St. Regis Al Mouj Muscat Resort, reflected on the event's impact, "Seeing these young individuals take charge was truly inspiring. Their enthusiasm and creativity brought a fresh perspective to our operations. At The St. Regis, we believe in developing talents, fostering curiosity and passion for service. Yasmeen Suhail al Junaidy added, "Making pastries was so much fun! It was so rewarding to see people enjoy the treats I helped create. I never knew how much fun it could be to work in a kitchen. I’ll definitely start helping my parents bake more often!"
