Muscat - Indian School Bausher, under the aegis of the Board of Directors of Indian Schools in Oman, hosted the Fifth Edition of ISQUIZ 2024, an inter-school mega quiz competition on November 16, which was competitive.
Mahfoudha Mubarak al Araimi, the Director General for Labour, Muscat Governorate, was the Chief Guest.
Dr. Sivakumar Manickam, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Indian Schools in Oman presided over the event in the presence of the Board of Directors Syed Salman, vice-chairman, and Vijay Saravanan Sankaran, director.
Also present was the M.P. Vinoba, senior principal and education advisor to the Board of Directors of Indian Schools in Oman.
Dr. Sivakumar Manickam underscored the importance of intellectual activities such as ISQUIZ in fostering critical thinking, collaboration, and a passion for learning. He encouraged students to persist in their pursuit of knowledge with curiosity and determination, emphasizing the crucial role of education in shaping their future.
Prizes were presented to the winners of the Daily Brain Boost Quiz, held from November 1 to November 10. The quiz was hosted by Vinay Mudaliar.
The finalists for the Middle and Secondary Categories were selected from the participants who competed in the online preliminary rounds – Prelims 1 and Prelims 2 – followed by Mega Prelims.
The quiz kicked off with eight teams from the Middle Category, and the rounds spanned a wide array of subjects.
In the Middle School Category, the winners were Mithil Sadhasivam and Mariah Liz Abraham from Indian School al Ghubra, while the First Runner-up position was claimed by Adrikcen Jayakanthan and Rida Shaikh from Indian School Bousher, and the Second Runner-up was awarded to Eshan Samir and Master Aadi Sri Keshav from Indian School Al Wadi Al Kabir.
The quiz continued with 8 teams from the Secondary Category. In the Secondary Category, the winners were Zaina Fathima and Aditya Verma from Indian School Salalah, while Shyam Nair and Miit Sangtani from Indian School Al Wadi Al Kabir secured the First runner-up and Master Atharv Rahul Dehedkar and Master Sabyasachi Choudhury from Indian School Al Ghubra secured the Second runner-up.
ISQUIZ 2024 served as an important platform that brought together students, educators, and dignitaries in a vibrant display of intellectual brilliance and spirited competition. As the event came to a close, the success of ISQUIZ 2024 left a lasting impression, inspiring future editions to continue nurturing young minds and promoting educational excellence across the region. The event reaffirmed the commitment of Indian Schools in Oman to provide holistic educational experiences, emphasizing both academic and extracurricular development for the students.
