NIZWA: The United Nations Children's Fund (Unicef) organised a dialogue session for students in collaboration with the Ministry of Education (MoE) and the Office of the Governor of Al Dakhiliyah. The event brought together students from schools across Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, including representatives of students with disabilities.
Held to commemorate World Children’s Day, the session was sponsored by Dr Rashid bin Hamad al Balushi, Chairman of the Oman Human Rights Commission, and attended by Shaikh Saleh bin Dhiyab al Rubaiee.
The session provided a platform for students to voice their opinions, seek answers to their questions, and engage in discussions on topics such as education, health, the environment, and climate change.
Participants were also introduced to the Child Law and the Convention on the Rights of the Child, including its key articles. The discussions emphasised the role students can play in promoting children’s rights and enhancing education within their communities. — ONA
