MUSCAT: The Office of Majlis Ash’shura held its first meeting of the second annual session (2024-2025) of the tenth term (2023-2027), under the chairmanship of Khalid bin Hilal al Maawali, Chairman, on Sunday.
The office reviewed a number of reports submitted by the standing committees including a report from the Youth and Human Resources Committee on the expressed desire regarding the necessary procedures for preventing foreign workers from traveling without the sponsor’s approval.
The office also reviewed the report of the Public Services and Utilities Committee on the expressed desire to prepare shelters in the Sultanate of Oman.
The office also reviewed a number of ministerial replies to a set of follow-up tools submitted by the members of the Majlis Ash’shura. Besides, the office approved a number of follow-up tools including the request for a briefing submitted to the minister of labour regarding data of nationals appointed by government authorities this year and the expressed desire to provide outlets for selling Omani agricultural crops in commercial centre.
The office reviewed the opinion of the Health and Social Committee regarding its assessment of the annual reports of the Ministry of Social Development and the Ministry of Health for the year 2023. It also reviewed the message of the head of the Public Services and Utilities Committee regarding the visual presentation on the draft National Social Housing Plan.
