Al Bashayer Club achieved a significant victory over Al Suwaiq with a score of 116-16 in the Oman Basketball League. The game took place at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher on Tuesday.
Al Bashayer displayed complete control over the game's flow, thanks to the focus and experience of its players, dominating in all phases. Leading the team in scoring were Mahmoud al Souli, Osama al Riyami, Noah al Mahrouqi, Saeed al Saadi, Hadeed Bait Bakhit and Saeed Ghassan.
Al Bashayer started the game strongly, with Saeed Ghassan scoring the first two points, giving his team a solid boost. Although Al Suwaiq attempted to equalise through Hamad al Musharafi, Al Bashayer maintained their effective offence. The team scored 11 consecutive points, fuelled by precise moves from Hadeed Bait Bakhit, Ahmed al Halhali, Shaker Smith and Mahmoud al Souli, extending the lead to 13-2. Both teams continued to push, but Al Bashayer ended the first quarter with a commanding lead of 25-6.
In the second quarter, Al Bashayer sustained their offensive pressure, with Hadeed Bait Bakhit adding 5 more points, while Al Suwaiq managed two points through Nawfal Taysir. Al Bashayer widened the gap with a three-pointer from Shaker Smith, concluding the first half ahead at 51-12.
Al Bashayer’s dominance continued in the third quarter, as the team added another 11 points through Saeed Ghassan, Bassam al Busaidy, Ahmed al Halhali and Mahmoud al Souli, stretching the lead to 62-12. Al Bashayer capitalised on offensive opportunities, finishing the third quarter at 87-12.
The game’s dynamic didn’t change in the final quarter, with Al Bashayer maintaining offensive control and a high-performance level. The team added more points, closing the game with a sweeping victory of 116-16, showcasing superiority in every aspect of the match.
The officiating team included international referee Issam al Siyabi as the main referee, international referee Wafaa al Sumari as the second referee and Ali al Salmani as the third referee. At the scoring table were Miad al Hamdani, Huda al Hanai and Hafidh Awlad Ahmed.
