ALGERIA: The Sultanate of Oman’s pavilion at the 27th Algiers International Book Fair, running until November 16, has captivated a diverse audience eager to explore Omani books, history, and cultural heritage.

Saeed bin Salim al Riyami, Director of the Department of Introduction to Islam and Cultural Exchange at the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs (MoARA), shared that Oman is showcasing nearly 80 titles, divided into books for sale and those displayed exclusively. Among them are 43 titles for purchase and 41 notable works by His Eminence Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamed al Khalili, Grand Mufti of the Sultanate of Oman.

Highlighted works include comprehensive collections such as Maqasid al Sharia (4 volumes), Ibadi Jurisprudential Principles (4 volumes), and Encyclopedia of Light (23 volumes). Other notable titles cover subjects from Ibadi jurisprudence to Islamic philosophy, alongside publications that celebrate Oman’s architectural heritage, such as Oman’s Mosques and Ancient Shrines.

Reflecting on the turnout, Al Riyami expressed surprise and enthusiasm at the fair's vibrant atmosphere, noting the interest of students and families alike. A storytelling segment, 'The Storyteller,' was particularly popular, engaging young attendees with tales that convey Omani values. — ONA
