Three-year-old Prana, the daughter of globetrotters Jesse Hart and Catherine, is a global citizen. The couple, who are passionate about training yoga and fire dancing, hail from Oregon in the US. Prana is excited to celebrate her first Oman National Day this year in Muscat Governorate.
In her limited Arabic vocabulary, she utters, ‘Ana farhana’ meaning I am happy and ‘Ana uhibu Oman’ meaning I love Oman, captivating those who meet the little wonder born on a global journey.
The globetrotting couple, under the banner ‘Full Circle Phenomenal’, embarked on a journey in 2020 that would cover the globe and last for nearly a decade in a vintage 1983 Toyota camper truck.
Their journey of over 50,000 kilometres began in Oregon, covered Mexico, then Guatemala where they were stuck for six months due to Covid restrictions. They continued through El Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua, where Prana was conceived.
“She was conceived during our stay at the foothills of an active volcano called Volcan Concepcion and an inactive volcano called Maderas on an island called Ometepe in Nicaragua. The two landmasses are covered by an infinite highway making an ‘8’ shape."
Prana was born months later in Ecuador after their illustrious journey through central American countries like Costa Rica, Panama, and Colombia before reaching Ecuador.
“It was only 4 hours of labour, I was at a high altitude and it was natural, although she was 3 weeks early. Luckily, we were near a city in Quito where we could get all the medical facilities,” Catherine said.
Their journey took them through Peru, Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Tanzania, and Kenya before entering Oman in March of this year.
The family arrived in the Wilayat of Salalah and have been living in their camper vehicle as well as in hotels. The couple found a unique way to enjoy and contribute to the Dhofar Khareef Festival by entertaining festival visitors with their captivating fire shows. As a result, the Dhofar Municipality extended their show for their fans. During the show in Salalah, the couple had to leave their daughter with an Indian family so they could focus on their performances.
“However, we are happy that she is learning new skills as well as Arabic and she is truly a global citizen. We are planning to have our next child in due course where dual citizenship is allowed,” Catherine chuckled.
“What makes Oman different and why we chose to stay here for a longer period is because of the hospitality of the people around us. We have friends wherever we go in the Sultanate of Oman and they cherish spending time with us. We are immensely happy to be welcomed the way Omanis do,” said Jesse.
Full Circle Phenomenal specialises in health, entertainment, content creation, and dream life living. Yoga, Qigong, Flow Arts, Fire Spinning, Dream Job Creating/Pro-Traveler Training, and Photo and Video Content Creation are the activities that the couple is busy with through their years of travel.
