MUSCAT, NOV 5: The Oman Anti-Doping Committee is participating in the Oman Science Festival, being held from November 4 to 11 at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre. This participation aims to raise community awareness about the importance of clean sports and the harmful effects of doping on public health and athletic performance.
The committee's participation is part of its ongoing efforts to educate about the dangers of doping, which negatively impacts athletes' health and exposes them to penalties.
The committee has prepared several interactive activities and awareness programmes targeting youth and athletes to deliver a clear message about the necessity of integrity in sports. These activities also cover the health and legal aspects of doping, including an introduction to the international and local regulations governing anti-doping in sports.
Through this participation, the Oman Anti-Doping Committee seeks to highlight its initiatives and efforts to protect sports integrity, as well as to strengthen partnerships with educational and scientific institutions to unify efforts in promoting health awareness across different community segments.
The Oman Science Festival 2024 features a range of diverse events designed to inspire creativity and scientific thinking among participants. These events include interactive science workshops, offering students and community members a hands-on approach to exploring science, along with a scientific innovation exhibition showcasing the latest ideas and inventions. The festival also includes scientific discussion sessions addressing contemporary scientific issues, science competitions that encourage excellence, and a science theatre presenting educational and entertaining performances that enhance scientific understanding in an engaging and enjoyable way.
