NIZWA: The Youth Dialogue Session 2024, in its third edition, kicked off at the Nizwa Cultural Centre, organised by Al Dakhiliyah Governorate and the Department of Culture, Sports and Youth.

The session running for three days from November 4 welcomes a wide range of university and college students, along with young people interested in cultural and sports affairs within the governorate. This event aligns with the directives of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to support the development journey and strengthen community partnerships.

The session aims to address challenges such as limited funding and access to facilities in the cultural and sports sectors, with a focus on leveraging successful initiatives from both local organisations and international best practices. It seeks to foster investment ideas that support community roles in line with Oman Vision 2040.

The first day discussions centred on three key topics namely developing the theatre and cinema sector, advancing visual arts, and promoting sports tourism. The second day will address the governance of civil society institutions related to culture and sports. On the final day, recommendations will be presented with the participation of decision-makers from local community institutions.
