Muscat: Oman’s head coach Rasheed Jaber announced the team’s lineup for the upcoming AFC Asian Qualifiers, with matches scheduled against Palestine on November 14 and Iraq on November 19. The squad, revealed on the OFA’s social media accounts, features two new faces from Al Nahdha Club: Thani al Rushaidi and Hussain al Shahri. The 27-man roster also includes experienced players who participated in previous qualifiers.


Training camp will commence shortly in Muscat as the Red Warriors prepare for two crucial home matches this month. They will host Palestine at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex on November 14, followed by a clash with Iraq at the same venue on November 19. The qualifiers will then pause for four months, with the Red Warriors resuming play against South Korea in Seoul on March 20, followed by a match against Kuwait in Kuwait City on March 25. The final two matches will be held on June 5 and 10, where the national team will face Jordan in Muscat and Palestine in Doha, respectively.

Oman’s players are eager to bounce back after suffering a 4-0 defeat against Jordan in Amman on October 15, although they had previously secured a convincing 4-0 win against Kuwait in Muscat on October 10.


The revealed squad comprises 27 members, including three goalkeepers: Ibrahim al Mukhaini, Fayez al Rushaidi and Ibrahim al Rajhi. The defensive lineup features Mohammed al Musallami, Ahmed al Khamisi, Thani al Rushaidi, Khalid al Buraiki, Ghanim al Habashi, Ali al Busaidi and Ahmed al Kaabi. The midfield is comprised of Hussain al Shahri, Harib al Saadi, Abdulaziz al Shamousi, Mulham al Sunaidi, Abdullah Fawaz, Arshad al Alawi, Sultan al Marzouqi, Yazeed al Mashani, Abdulrahman al Mushefri and Zaher al Aghbari. The attacking line includes Nasser al Rawahi, Salah al Yahyaei, Omar al Maliki, Mohsin al Ghassani, Essam al Subhi, Hatim al Roushdi and Jameel al Yahmadi.
