Muscat: The 10th round of the Oman-Kuwait Joint Committee was held in Kuwait on Thursday.
The Omani side was headed by Sayyid Badr Hamad al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, while the Kuwaiti side was headed by Abdullah Ali al Yahya, Foreign Minister.
Sayyid Badr pointed out in his speech that the two historic visits of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and Sheikh Mishal al Ahmad al Jaber al Sabah, Emir of the State of Kuwait constituted the start of a new era of firm relations. The two visits also signaled the expansion of bilateral cooperation in strategic fields that serve joint interests.
The two sides signed the minutes of the 10th round. They also signed several memorandums of understanding (MoUs) and executive programmers in the fields of culture, arts, land transport, agriculture, consumer protection, and municipal work. Moreover, an executive program was signed in the field of tourism and business.
An MoU was also signed for the recognition of maritime certificates for navigators.
The 10th round was attended by several officials from both sides.
The meeting came within the framework of the two countries’ keenness to enhance bilateral cooperation in all fields and in the implementation of the directives of the two countries’ leadership in promoting mutual interests.
