Oman drop two spots in Fifa ranking for October

The world football governing body, Fifa, released the men’s world ranking of the teams for October on Thursday. Oman dropped two spots in the last Fifa Ranking of October, which was released on Thursday. Red Warriors came in the 80th position with 1,305.99 points. Oman’s position was ranked as 12th in Asia and 11th among Arab teams. The drop of the national team in the ranking was due to the last defeat in the AFC Asian Qualifiers — Road to 26 against Jordan by 4-0 in Amman city. Furthermore, Oman suffered three defeats in the qualifiers against Iraq, South Korea and Jordan while they registered a sole victory over Kuwait in Muscat by 4-0. Oman will meet Palestine in the fifth match of the qualifiers in Muscat on November 14, and they will host Iraq at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex on November 19. The 2022 Fifa World Cup champions Argentina remained at the top of the rankings with 1,883.5 points while France are second with 1,859.85 points. Spain are in third position while Brazil are in fifth place. At the Asian level, Japan team managed to maintain their top place as the leading team in the continent. Iran stayed as the second Asian team and were placed in the 19th position as they drew with Uzbekistan and defeated Qatar in Group A matches in October. Morocco stayed at the top of African teams in the list, as they are in 13th place while Senegal are next with 1,627.13 points, and Egypt are the third team at the continental level.
