MUSCAT: Al Sharqiya Aviation (ASA), the private air transport arm of the Mohammed Al Barwani Group of companies, recently hosted the first Airbus Helicopters Safety roadshow in Oman. The event, which aimed to enhance aviation safety practices, took place with representatives from the Oman Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and the Oman Transport Safety Bureau (OTSB).

Eng Ahlam al Jahdhami, CEO of ASA, said: "This safety roadshow has been conducted in Saudi Arabia with resounding success, and this marks its first presentation in Oman. We are thrilled to host it as part of our commitment to fostering collaboration among helicopter operators and working closely with the government. I would like to thank our guests for attending this roadshow."

Tamer Gendy, COO of ASA, said: "We believe that this event contributes to aviation safety and operational excellence. It is critical that we adhere to the highest standards of safety in the industry and build upon them, ensuring the safety of crew and passengers alike."

This initiative aligns with ASA's ongoing efforts to promote a culture of safety within the aviation sector in the Sultanate of Oman and further strengthens its role as a leader in helicopter operations in the Middle East.

For its part, a CAA official said: "Since our establishment, the CAA has worked through its regulatory efforts to maximise safety in the air. We are pleased with this initiative from ASA and look forward to seeing its impact within the industry."

While this initiative is the first in the Sultanate of Oman, ASA aims to continue driving such efforts to promote a culture of safety through collaboration with all stakeholders.
