MUSCAT: The Royal Navy of Oman (RNO), represented by several vessels from its fleet, has concluded its participation in the annual military naval exercise IMEX24. This year's exercise took place in the maritime area of Bandar Abbas, Iran, from October 17 to 19, involving the navies of several Indian Ocean-bordering countries.
The participation in IMEX24 aligns with the Royal Navy of Oman’s annual training strategy, aimed at enhancing cooperation and exchanging expertise with the navies of sisterly and friendly countries. Such exercises are vital in maintaining the readiness and proficiency of the RNO fleet and its personnel across various maritime specialties, ensuring their preparedness for national duties.
Earlier, the RNO successfully concluded the annual joint naval exercise (Sea Breeze 2024), conducted in the maritime region of Goa, India. This significant military exercise involved a series of coordinated operations between Omani naval vessels and those of the Indian Navy, reinforcing the strong bilateral relations between the two nations.
The exercise serves as a crucial element of the RNO's annual training plans, designed to enhance operational readiness and foster collaboration with friendly navies.
