However, it can also pose significant threats to lives and property when heavy rainfall leads to the overflow of ‘wadis’ and flash floods. Therefore, it is crucial to follow the safety guidelines and official directives issued by the authorities, such as the Royal Oman Police, to safeguard lives and minimise risks.

Citizens and residents should remain vigilant by staying informed about current and upcoming weather conditions. Official weather bulletins from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) provide accurate forecasts, including expected rainfall, potential floods, or unusual weather changes. As meteorologist Khalid al Amri points out, "Staying updated on weather bulletins is critical, as they offer timely warnings, enabling people to take necessary precautions in advance." Wadis and low-lying areas are particularly dangerous during rainfall, as water levels can rise rapidly, creating strong currents that pose life-threatening risks. The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has repeatedly emphasised the importance of avoiding these areas during rain, whether on foot or by car. Additionally, people are urged not to gather in locations susceptible to wadi flows, as water levels can surge unexpectedly.
