Muscat: The capital, Muscat, is witnessing a continuous flow of thunderstorms accompanied by heavy rains and active winds over the coastal areas extending from Sur to Quriyat, with chances of them extending towards the rest of the Muscat Governorate and South Al Batinah in the coming hours.


Traffic has been closed on Al Jabal Street (Amerat - Bausher road) to ensure the safety of users and public safety. Wadi Bani Khalid mountain road has been closed as a precautionary measure.


Wadis continue to flow in the North and South al Sharqiyah Governorates as officials urge people not to risk their lives.

It has been decided to activate the distance learning system in all higher education institutions and government and private schools on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, in the governorates of Muscast, North Al Sharqiyah, South Al Sharqiyah, Al Dakhiliyah, South and North Al Batinah and mountainous areas in Al Buraimi and Al Dhahirah..
