Muscat: The National Committee for Emergency Management (NCEM) decided on Wednesday has deactivate the sub-committees formed to handle the effects of weather conditions.
Various authorities will work on restoring services according to their competencies.
NCEM had earlier activated the Emergency Management Center and sub-committees in the Governorates of South Al Sharqiyah, Al Wusta, and Dhofar.
Northern governorates of the Sultanate of Oman may still experience rain of varying intensities, including occasional thunderstorms accompanied by strong winds. While most of these governorates will see scattered showers, only mountainous areas of Muscat, Al Dahirah, and Al Buraimi governorates are likely to receive moderate to heavy rainfall.
According to the weather forecast, rainfall in these northern governorates is expected to be between 20-50 mm, while the Dhofar Governorate may receive lighter rain, around 10-30 mm.
The ongoing weather conditions already affected several governorates, particularly South al Sharqiyah, North al Sharqiyah, and Muscat, leading to flowing wadis while coastal areas experienced rising sea waves.

Heavy rains in Muscat
The capital, Muscat, witnessed heavy rains (since Tuesday night till morning) and active winds over the coastal areas that extend from Sur to Quriyat as the weather radar showed the continued flow of rain clouds over parts of the governorates of South Al Sharqiyah, Al Wusta, Muscat, and parts of North al Batinah and South al Batinah.
As of Wednesday morning, various areas received heavy rains until 6 am this morning, which include Qalhat 184.4 mm, Sur 114.4 mm, Port Sultan Qaboos Port in Muscat Governorate 74.4 mm, and Muscat International Airport 7.4 mm.
Traffic has been opened on Al Jabal Street ((Amerat - Bausher road) or the Moutain Road as the clouds approach the coasts of the Al Wusta Governorate.
The Civil Defense and Ambulance Authority in Muscat Governorate responded to a report about rising rainwater levels in a house in Muttrah, where 10 people were evacuated and transferred to the shelter center in coordination with the sub-committee of the National Committee for Emergency Management, They are in good health.
The North al Batinah Governorate witnessed thunderstorms of varying intensity.
23 reports were dealt with by the rescue teams of the Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority since the beginning of the weather conditions in the governorates of South Al Sharqiyah and Muscat.
Areas such as the Ras Madrakah in Duqm, the Hallaniyat Islands, and the eastern regions of Dhofar Governorate will witness rainfall of varying intensity.
The weather conditions will begin to recede on Thursday. Still, there are chances of rain in the governorates located within the Al Hajar Mountains range and chances of rain clouds flowing on the coasts of Al Wusta and Dhofar Governorates.
Wadi Bani Khalid mountain road has been closed as a precautionary measure.
Wadis continue to flow in the North and South al Sharqiyah Governorates as officials urge people not to risk their lives.
