HAIMA: The Omani Writers and Authors Association (OWAA) held a ceremony to honour the winners of the Association's Award for Literary Creativity for School Students in its second edition for 2024, recognising literary talent across Al Wusta Governorate.

The event aimed to encourage a culture of reading and writing among young people, fostering a new generation of creative minds in Oman.

During the event, 24 male and female students were honoured for their achievements in various categories of the competition, which included poetry, short stories, and essay writing.

Their work showcased the depth of imagination, creativity, and cultural awareness among the young literary community in the governorate.

The ceremony was presided over by Shaikh Ahmed bin Musallam al Kathiri, Governor of Al Wusta, who commended the students' dedication to literary excellence. Engineer Saeed bin Mohammed al Saqlawi, Chairman of the Association's Board of Directors, highlighted the role of such initiatives in preserving Oman’s rich literary heritage and nurturing talent from an early age.

The event, held at the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry branch in Al Wusta Governorate, brought together a number of officials, educators, and families, all celebrating the achievements of the young writers. The honoured students expressed their gratitude and shared their aspirations to contribute further to Oman's literary scene, inspired by the recognition and support from the Association.
