Muscat: Salalah Club secured a well-deserved 4-2 victory over Seeb Club, while Ahli Sidab edged Al Nasr 1-0 on Sunday to book a spot in the semifinals of the Oman Hockey League.

Based on these results, Ahli Sidab will face Al Nasr, and Salalah will meet Seeb in the semifinals.

In the first match, Salalah players capitalised on their chances, while Seeb attempted a comeback but couldn't do enough to stop their opponents’ brilliance.

The first quarter started at a fast pace from both teams, with Salalah Club taking control of the midfield early on. In the seventh minute, Samir Hlais opened the scoring for Salalah after a quick counter-attack, finishing with a powerful shot into Seeb’s net, putting his team ahead 1-0. Seeb tried to respond quickly with some organised attacks, but Salalah's defence held firm, ending the first quarter with Salalah leading by a single goal.

In the second quarter, Salalah continued to dominate the match. Just five minutes into the quarter, Osama Khamis doubled the score for his team, placing Seeb under significant pressure. Despite Seeb’s attempts to get back into the game, Salalah's solid defence and strong midfield presence prevented any real threats to their goal. The second quarter ended with Salalah leading 2-0.

In the final quarter, Seeb continued their efforts to equalise and managed to score another goal through Ahmed al Balushi in the 49th minute, making the match even more thrilling. As the game neared its conclusion, Talal Mohammed sealed the victory for Salalah with a fourth goal in the 55th minute, finalising the score at 4-2.

Ammar nets winner

In another match, Ahli Sidab secured an important 1-0 win over Al Nasr in a fierce contest at the Oman Hockey Stadium in Al Amerat. The first quarter was cautious from both teams, ending in a goalless draw. In the second quarter, Ammar al Shaibi scored the only goal of the match for Ahli Sidab in the 27th minute.

Al Nasr attempted to make a comeback in the third quarter, but Ahli Sidab’s defence and goalkeeper stood strong. Despite continuous efforts from Al Nasr in the final quarter, the match ended with a 1-0 victory for Ahli Sidab.
