Dr Shihab Al Din bin Ahmed al Riyami, Oman’s FIVB International Coach Instructor, was named as a member of the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Coaches Committee. Al Riyami is the only Omani citizen who is present currently in all the AVC Confederation's various committees.

“I am pleased with this announcement and decision by the AVC. It is a new achievement in my career as International Coach Instructor. Thanks to the AVC Coaches Committee for their trust and confidence and I am looking forward to supporting the committee in the coming period,” Dr Shihab Al Din said.

This selection of Al Riyami comes following the confidence of AVC as Al Riyami was in charge of the position of Secretary of the Coaches Committee during 2008-2012 and then he was opted for another term in the Coaches Committee during 2016-2020 as well as the third period 2021-2024 as member.

FIVB International Coach Instructor from the International Volleyball Federation had managed to contribute and develop coaches programmes and events in Oman and the Asian continent beside his attendance in several courses internationally.

He also held series of training courses and technical seminars that exceeded more than 66 in worldwide in addition to his membership in the technical committees of the Asian Championships. He is considered one of the elite instructors in the Asian continental and among the experts of the European-Asian programme that was recently established in cooperation with the European and AVC.

Furthermore, he also contributed to the coaching programme and the last course was in Thailand, Bangkok 2022.

Last July, Dr Shihab Al Din and American international lecturer Gordan Mayforth delivered both a national programme and development strategy for the Chinese Taipei Volleyball Federation titled “CTVBA Coach Course”.

The course has been divided into three phases and it concluded in the beginning of August.
