MUSCAT: Bahrain’s Al Khaldiya SC player Salah al Yahyaei joined the training sessions of the Red Warriors on Thursday at Seeb Stadium as he was called up by the newly appointed head coach Rasheed Jaber. Salah trained hard with his team-mates as they are gearing up for upcoming clashes against Kuwait and Jordan in the third and fourth rounds on Thursday and Tuesday respectively of the final qualifiers for the 2026 Fifa World Cup.

The coaching staff of the national senior football team decided on Thursday that Seeb player Mohammed Ramadhan to be excluded from the team’s squad due to his current injury. The latest Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) reports resulted that he is suffering from injury in Quadriceps muscle. The medical team recommended that the player needs some rest and recovery training until he gets back fit to the field. Mohsin al Ghassani, Thailand’s Bangkok United FC player, is expected to join the team’s training sessions on Sunday.

On the other hand, the Red Warriors moved their training sessions from Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex to Seeb Stadium on Thursday and the coaching staff of the team decided to provide a day off on Friday for the players since they started on last Saturday and they will resume the training on Saturday.

The team under supervision of the experienced national head coach Rasheed Jaber completed successfully a two-hour intensive training session on Thursday at Seeb Stadium. Coach Rasheed and his assistant coaches focused on different areas including all the lines of defending, middle and attacking lines and ensuring proper harmony among the three lines.

Moreover, the technical team executed a warm-up game among the squad by distributing them into two teams. During the match, the players trained on practicing some technical and tactics strategies. It is expected that the team will raise up the preparatory plans ahead of Thursday’s clash against Kuwait as it is a crucial game which will decide Oman’s chances in the group.

The Kuwait team will arrive in Muscat on Sunday and they will train at Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex. The team currently is busy in a camp in Dubai for few days ahead of the upcoming games against Oman and Palestine.
