From June to August, water temperatures rise to between 28-30 degrees Celsius, making it comfortable enough to dive without a wetsuit. During the winter months, from December to February, water temperatures drop to 21-24 degrees Celsius, and a full 5mm wetsuit is recommended.
The most popular time to visit Musandam is between September and December, when cooler air temperatures make outdoor activities more enjoyable. Whale shark season, which runs from May to October, is a particular highlight for many divers, and visibility can vary greatly depending on the tides, sometimes shifting from 5 to 20 metres in a single day.

Travellers can fly into Dubai International Airport and drive about 1.5 hours to Dibba Port, Musandam’s gateway. There are also domestic flights available to Khasab Airport and for those in Muscat, there is also option through ferries.

Khor Qabal presents a combination of walls and slopes, with depths of 5 to 20 metres, making it suitable for macro and night diving, though divers should be mindful of strong currents.
Another must-visit site is Octopus Rock, renowned for its diverse underwater terrain. With depths ranging from 14 to 32 metres, multiple dives may be needed to fully explore the area.
Ras Samid offers a stunning coral garden with a mix of walls and slopes, making it an excellent choice for both macro and night diving.
