Al Bashayer defeat Ahli Sidab in Credit Oman Basketball Cup

Al Bashayer team trumped Ahli Sidab 84-54 during the third edition of the Credit Oman Basketball Cup 2024 at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher.


The match saw a strong performance from Al Bashayer, who excelled throughout the game, with several players standing out, including Osama al Riyami, Hadid Bait Bakhit, Said al Saadi and Ahmed al Halhali. On the Ahli Sidab side, standout performances came from Adil al Battashi, Sami al Ghilani and Haitham Bani Araba.


The first quarter began with a clear advantage for Al Bashayer, as Ahmed al Halhali scored a three-pointer, followed by another three-pointer from Said al Saadi, putting the team ahead by 6 points. Ahli Sidab responded with two points from Sami al Ghilani, but Al Bashayer continued their pressure, scoring an additional basket through Mahmoud al Suli. The two teams exchanged attacks, with Al Bashayer scoring 20 more points, while Ahli Sidab managed only 6 points, ending the first quarter with Al Bashayer leading 28-12.


In the second quarter, Al Bashayer maintained their dominance despite Ahli Sidab's attempts to reduce the deficit. Hadid Bait Bakhit scored 4 points with two successful shots from under the basket, while Haitham Bani Araba added two points for Ahli Sidab. The teams continued to exchange attacks, with Al Bashayer adding 17 points and Ahli Sidab 12 points, ending the period with Al Bashayer leading 49-26.


The third quarter saw no major changes in the flow of the game, as Al Bashayer maintained their control. Osama al Riyami scored 3 points from a free throw and Said al Saadi added a three-pointer, while Ahli Sidab tried to respond with a three-pointer from Ahmed al Jahwari. The third quarter ended with Al Bashayer leading 72-38.


In the fourth quarter, Ahli Sidab's performance improved noticeably, with Al Jahwari scoring two three-pointers at the beginning of the period. Both teams continued to exchange attacks, but


Al Bashayer maintained their lead until the end of the game, finishing 84-54.


The match was officiated by international referees Rashid al Mashifri as the first referee, Ali al Salmani as the second referee and Mazen al Hilali as the third referee, while the table officials were Hafidh Oulad Ahmed, Yaqoub al Nadabi and Majid al Akhzami.
