

MUSCAT: A regional seminar on physiotherapy organised by the Oman Special Olympics Association concluded focusing on training specialists to provide the best care for Omani Special Olympics athletes with intellectual disabilities, Down syndrome, and autism. Held at the Al Amal Club, the seminar aimed to elevate the skills of physiotherapists to offer tailored healthcare services for these athletes.
The event culminated in the participation of more than 20 government and private centres, with medical examinations provided to young athletes. The closing ceremony, attended by Dr Saeed bin Hamad Al Rubaie, President of the University of Technology and Applied Sciences, highlighted the importance of community partnerships in supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities. Several memoranda of understanding were signed between the Oman Special Olympics Association and participating entities to enhance collaboration in providing specialised care. - ONA
