MUSCAT: The Omani-Tunisian Olive Oil Exhibition launched yesterday, Thursday, September 26, at Muscat Grand Mall in the Wilayat of Bousher, Muscat Governorate.

The exhibition is organized by the Ministry of Agricultural, Fisheries, and Water Resources in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Tunisia in Oman and will continue from September 26 to 28.

The three-day exhibition showcases Omani olive oil products from the presses of villages in the Wilayat of Jebel Akhdar, Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, alongside various Tunisian olive oil products, value-added products, and food manufacturing items based on olive oil. It brings together olive farmers, traders, olive oil press owners, and agricultural companies involved in the production, packaging, and export of olive oil from both Oman and Tunisia.

The exhibition aims to strengthen relations between Oman and Tunisia in the agricultural sector, enhance trade in agricultural products, introduce olive oil and value-added products from both countries, and create opportunities for commercial partnerships between institutions, companies, individuals, and entrepreneurs in both nations.

Tunisia, a leading nation in olive cultivation and olive oil production, ranks first among Arab nations and third globally in production and export, according to 2023 statistics from the International Olive Council, which includes 44 countries involved in olive and olive oil production and export.
