Nizwa: In line with the rapid technological advancements in the Sultanate of Oman, Al Dakhiliyah Governorate has taken a significant step towards enhancing the quality of services for citizens and residents through its digital transformation initiatives.
The governorate celebrated the launch of innovative digital platforms on Tuesday with an event held under the auspices of Shaikh Hilal bin Said bin Hamdan al Hajri, Governor of Al Dakhiliyah.
Senior officials from the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, along with the governorate’s general managers, also attended the ceremony.
Among the key projects unveiled is the “Al Dakhiliyah Explorer,” an interactive platform designed to provide easy access to geographical data within the governorate. This platform allows users to virtually visit Al Dakhiliyah Governorate’s tourist spots, schools and hospitals with just a click. It caters to both specialists and the general public, including tourists eager to explore the governorate's rich historical and natural heritage.
The “Al Dakhiliyah Explorer” offers detailed maps of the governorate’s borders and administrative divisions, alongside accurate information on various locations. Users can discover tourist attractions such as parks, gardens, recreational areas, as well as historical and archaeological sites. The platform also covers essential services such as hotels, banks, gas stations, post offices and government institutions. Additionally, it pinpoints the locations of schools, universities, hospitals, clinics, mosques and even playgrounds—transforming it into a comprehensive digital gateway that enhances the visitor and resident experience.
Another cornerstone of this digital transformation is the "customer service" system, which streamlines communication between citizens and government entities. Through this system, individuals can submit electronic requests to various government agencies, including the Interior Municipality and governors' offices. The system enables real-time tracking of requests and allows users to provide feedback on service quality upon completion.
This system not only saves time and effort but also significantly increases the efficiency of government services by eliminating the delays associated with paper-based processes. It has garnered widespread praise from residents for its effectiveness in handling electronic transactions.
Al Dakhiliyah Governorate's leap into digital transformation reflects its commitment to improving living standards, fostering sustainable development and making services more accessible and efficient. These newly launched systems underscore the governorate's efforts to enhance public engagement by offering interactive tools that enable greater citizen participation in governance.
This achievement marks another step in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate’s journey toward building a technologically advanced and sustainable society. The initiatives not only serve to enhance the lives of residents but also reinforce the governorate's standing as a prime tourist and historical destination. The digital future envisioned by Al Dakhiliyah Governorate ensures that technology is leveraged to serve humanity, all while positioning the governorate as a leader in innovation and development.
