Muscat: The workshop on simplifying and automating procedures in Al Sharqiyah South Governorate successfully concluded, focusing on enhancing operational efficiency, streamlining processes, and improving the experience for beneficiaries.

The initiative began under the auspices of Dr Yahya bin Badr al Maawali, Governor Al Sharqiyah South. The initiative emphasises the importance of digital transformation.

The Governor highlighted the advanced strides the region has made in its digital transformation plan and underscored the critical role such workshops play in fostering awareness among employees about improving services and simplifying procedures to boost beneficiary satisfaction.

The workshop stressed the need to begin with an in-depth analysis of the current processes, ensuring that optimal benefits are achieved through institutional cooperation and active engagement with service beneficiaries.

The workshop programme included a thorough listing of all procedures within the governorate, identifying areas for improvement and developing streamlined methods to enhance the service delivery experience. Each process was evaluated to determine the most efficient approach to simplification and enhancement.

Over 30 services were targeted for improvement, beginning with a study of the existing procedures, identifying weaknesses and challenges and progressing towards drawing a clear picture of the future state. The workshop also featured a quality control stage, where stakeholders reviewed and refined re-engineered procedures, leading to the final approval of the optimised service framework by specialists.

Ahmed al Khamisi delivered a specialised session focusing on procedural simplification for several departments, including Legal, Technical Affairs, Reconciliation and Mediation, Electronic Information Security, Information Technology, and Violations.

Additionally, an agreement was signed to develop and implement a business continuity plan, reviewing 37 services in the governorate.

This plan outlines a detailed mechanism for automating service pathways according to the digital transformation specifications.

The agreement, signed by Dr Yahya al Maawali and Dr Yousef al Khamisi from the Development and Quality Company for Business, aims to save time, effort, and costs by reducing redundant procedures.
