Muscat: Responding to the false odor (smelling like a gas leak) that was reported in various parts of Muscat for two to three days, the Environment Authority (EA) issued a statement.
The foul odor that was emanating from the Mina al Fahal area was felt far and wide and reported by citizens and residents across social media platforms.
The Environment Authority, in coordination with the Ministry of Health and the Civil Defense and Ambulance Authority (CDAA), responded and verified the source of these odors, a statement said.
EA issued a report against the responsible party due to failure to report the malfunctions that caused these emissions, and the authority is following up, in coordination with the competent authorities, on the necessary procedures to deal with the matter.
EA said it appreciated the commitment of citizens and residents to the safety and cleanliness of the environment.
EA said it will not hesitate to implement the necessary measures against violators and anyone who causes harm or pollution to the environment of the country.
