MUSCAT: Seeb Club defeated Nizwa Club with a score of 70-57 in the Credit Oman Basketball Cup 2024. The match, held at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher, saw Seeb win the three quarters, while Nizwa managed to win the final quarter.


Seeb started the match well, taking the lead with a three-pointer from player Rashid al Zuhaibi. Nizwa responded with a free throw point from Saif al Toubi. After several attacks, Seeb added two points through Abdulrahman al Shaibi, extending the lead to 5-1. Nizwa managed to narrow the gap with a three-pointer, and both teams continued to exchange attacks. Seeb scored 12 more points while Nizwa added 6, ending the first quarter with Seeb leading 17-10.


In the second quarter, the gameplay pattern remained unchanged as Seeb continued to dominate. Marwan al Hadidi scored a basket, making the score 19-10. Nizwa's Saif al Toubi responded with a two-pointer. Seeb then doubled the gap to 30-16, before Nizwa’s Mohammed al Wahaibi reduced the score. The first half ended with Seeb leading 32-18.

The third quarter witnessed an exchange of points between the two teams, as Mohammed al Wahaibi managed to score two points for Nizwa, and Marwan al Hadidi responded for Seeb. Despite a three-pointer from Musab al Wahaibi, Seeb maintained their advantage, taking a 36-23 lead. Both teams continued exchanging attacks, and the third quarter concluded with Seeb ahead 52-30.


In the fourth quarter, Nizwa attempted to close the gap, scoring 5 points, while Seeb responded with 2, keeping their lead at 54-35. Seeb’s Rashid al Wahaibi extended the lead with a three-pointer, but Nizwa’s Akram al Rashidi answered back with 4 points, followed by 2 points from Mohammed al Wahaibi, reducing the gap to 41-57. Abdulrahman al Shaibi of Seeb then responded with 5 points, pushing the score to 62-41. Nizwa countered with 4 points, narrowing the gap. The match ended with both teams exchanging points, sealing Seeb’s victory over Nizwa with a final score of 70-57.
