MUSCAT: The Shotokan Karate Centre is preparing to host the 10th edition of the Open Karate Championship, which will be held from December 6 to 7 in Muscat in collaboration with the Oman Karate Committee. This championship is part of ongoing efforts to promote the sport of karate in the Sultanate of Oman and to spread health and sports culture among different segments of society, particularly the youth.
The championship serves as an outstanding platform for discovering young and promising talents in karate, bringing together a large number of sports clubs and centres from both inside and outside Oman. It also offers an opportunity for competition between both professional and amateur athletes. The centre, in cooperation with the Oman Karate Committee, aims to create a competitive sports environment that fosters a spirit of challenge and discipline.
The championship seeks to achieve several key goals, the most prominent of which are promoting sports awareness in the community and increasing interest in karate among younger generations. Additionally, it aims to discover and develop local talents, while instilling values of sportsmanship, patience and discipline among participants. Furthermore, the championship provides an ideal competitive setting to enhance physical and mental abilities, while building self-confidence.
Over the past nine editions, the championship has achieved great success by attracting a large number of participants from both within and outside Oman. It has also contributed to discovering many talented athletes who have continued their sports careers with success.
The Shotokan Karate Centre, in collaboration with the Oman Karate Committee, offers exceptional sponsorship and partnership opportunities for companies and institutions wishing to support the championship. This event provides an ideal platform for promoting brands and strengthening ties with the sports and youth community. Additionally, the championship offers companies the chance to contribute to supporting sports and community activities in Oman.
