MUSCAT: The Oman Under-20 team players are raising up their final preparations in Dushanbe city, Tajikistan, after they arrived on Sunday for a short preparatory camp ahead of the AFC U20 Asian Cup 2025 Qualifiers.


After their arrival, the Oman team players, coached by Ahmed bin Mubarak al Alawi, reported to the daily training sessions on the grounds of the secondary field in Dushanbe. The first training session included light warm-up exercises, along with a recovery session for the players, following their late arrival in the city.


The coaching staff headed by Ahmed al Alawi and his assistant Jamal al Mahrami arranged a detailed technical plan for the team ahead of their matches in the AFC U20 Asian Cup 2025 Qualifiers which will take place in Dushanbe city, Tajikistan, during September 21 to 29. The plan will include two times training sessions including the fitness and gymnasium training while in the evening the players will get some technical and tactical sessions.

The junior Red Warriors will meet in Group E qualifiers alongside Malaysia, Sri Lanka, North Korea and hosts Tajikistan. The 10 group winners and five best second-placed teams will advance to the finals as China will host the tournament during February 6-23, 2025. Oman will aim for their fourth presence in the Asian event and will fight for securing a spot in the expected tough qualifiers.


The national team will commence their Asian campaign against Malaysia on Saturday at the Republican Central Stadium while they will take on Sri Lanka on September 25. Then, Oman will play against North Korea on September 27 before they conclude their games against hosts Tajikistan on September 27. All the matches will be held at the same venue.
