Muscat: Theatre enthusiasts in Oman are in for a cultural treat as the 8th Omani Theatre Festival kicks off on September 22, 2024, at the prestigious Al Irfan Theatre, Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The festival begins with the performance ‘Al Jadr’ by Luban Troupe, which will be sponsored by Dr Abdul Karim bin Ali bin Jawad Al Lawati. The festival, running until October 1, will feature eight competing theatrical performances, bringing together the finest talents of Omani creators. The event, organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Youth, aims to elevate the national theatre scene, reflecting the values of ‘Oman Vision 2040.’
In addition to the main performances, audiences can enjoy parallel shows, art exhibitions, and intellectual seminars. The festival’s programme will also honour key figures in the Omani theatre movement.
