MUSCAT: Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, Oman’s Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion, met with Douglas Alexander, the UK's Minister of State for Trade Policy and Economic Security, to discuss enhancing cooperation in trade, industry, and investments between Oman and the UK.
The meeting focused on boosting bilateral trade and investment, reviewing current growth indicators, and pushing forward the free trade agreement negotiations between the GCC and the UK. Both sides acknowledged the importance of deepening trade ties and exchanging expertise in various fields of mutual interest.
The discussion included a visual presentation on the long-standing relationship between the two nations, with a particular emphasis on technology transfer, investment opportunities, and economic reforms under Oman Vision 2040. The presentation also showcased Oman's efforts to create a favorable investment climate, highlighting recent developments in investment laws and incentives for investors.
Attendees from the Omani side included Dr Saleh bin Said Masn, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion for Commerce and Industry, and Pankaj Khimji, Advisor to the Ministry for International Cooperation.
