Oman Club earned a thrilling 2-0 victory over Ibri in a match held on Saturday at the Ibri Sports Complex, as part of the fourth round of the Omani Football League. The match started at a fast pace from Ibri, who sought to score an early goal. In the third minute, player Branly Augustin fired a powerful shot from outside the penalty area, but it passed near the left post of Oman Club. Minutes later, Augustin sent a cross into the penalty area of Oman Club to his teammate Ismail Ruti, who shot it quickly but it passed the right post. The pressure and wasted opportunities continued from both teams, as Oman goalkeeper Abdul Aziz al Hasani stopped a powerful shot from Augustin in the twentieth minute. Before the end of the first half, Oman had a dangerous opportunity through Ismail Ruti, but he couldn't capitalize, leaving the first half to end in a goalless draw. At the beginning of the second half, Oman Club imposed its control and succeeded in scoring the first goal in the 47th minute through Daniel Aitor Essien, who shot a low ball from outside the penalty area. Ibri tried to return to the match after the goal, but goalkeeper al Hasani was alert and blocked a powerful shot from Augustin in the 63rd minute. Ibri's attempts to equalize continued, but Yazid al Rawahi missed a valuable opportunity in the 80th minute after the goalkeeper blocked it. In the 92nd minute, Oman striker Kiatalwa Imus took advantage of a defensive mistake to penetrate Ibri's defense and score the second goal, confirming his team's victory with a score of 2-0.
With this victory, Oman Club raised its score to 10 points, while Ibri's score froze at 3 points, remaining in eighth place, behind Al Rustaq and Sohar on goal difference.
Saham Club wins North Al Batinah derby
Saham Club managed to secure a hard-fought 1-0 victory over their rival Al Khabourah in a match held at the Sohar Sports Complex. Saham Club started the half with pressure and possession of the ball, while Al Khabourah's performance declined slightly. Despite this decline, Al Khabourah returned to form an advantage in terms of opportunities and building attacks, as it tried to reach Saham's goal several times. In the sixth minute, Ahmed al Riyami shot a ball from deep, but it was easy for Saham's goalkeeper. On the other hand, Saham Club tried to exploit some opportunities at the beginning of the first half, as Ali al Hashemi shot a powerful ball in the 18th minute, which was blocked by Al Khabourah's goalkeeper. The first half ended in a goalless draw.
In the second half, the excitement increased with the opening of the game from both teams. Saham succeeded in exploiting this openness, as Ali Al Hashemi scored the only goal of the match in the 53rd minute. Saham tried to strengthen the result and relied on counterattacks, and in the 75th minute, Emmanuel missed a sure opportunity after being alone with Al Khabourah's goalkeeper.
As for Al Khabourah, they appeared to be in a state of decline after receiving the early goal in the second half. The match ended with Saham Club winning 1-0.
With this win, Saham earned their first 3 points in the Omani League while Al Khabourah’s winning streak came to an end leaving them with 6 points from 3 matches.
