Muscat: The Omantel Football League resumes on Saturday after the international break, with the fourth round set to kick off with thrilling match-ups.
On the first day, the Ibri Sports Complex will host a clash between Oman Club and Ibri Club.
Ibri, benefiting from their awakening in the third round after achieving a valuable win, will aim to improve their position and move away from the stumbling start in the league. Oman Club, currently third with 7 points, enter the match looking for a victory to continue putting pressure on the league leaders after two wins and a draw in the previous rounds.
In the evening, the Sohar Sports Complex will witness a match between Saham Club and Al Khabourah Club. Saham are striving to earn their first points in the league after two losses and a postponed match, while Al Khabourah, a newly promoted team, seek to continue their strong start, having won two matches that placed them fourth with 6 points.
On September 15, Sur team will host Al Nahdha Club at Sur Sports Complex. Al Nahdha are looking to achieve their fourth consecutive win after collecting 9 points from their first three matches, while Sur are looking for their first win in the league after stumbling in the first three rounds and postponing their opening match against Dhofar.
On the same day, Seeb will face Bahla at the Ibri Sports Complex. Seeb, league leaders with 9 points, aim to maintain their perfect record, while this will be Bahla’s first match in the league after being promoted to replace Dhofar.
The day's action concludes with a match between Al Shabab and Sohar at the Sohar Sports Complex. Sohar are looking to return to winning ways after a win and two losses, while Al Shabab are looking to overcome their stumbling start after three consecutive defeats that left them at the bottom of the standings without points.
On September 16, the round will conclude with a strong matchup between Al Rustaq and Al Nasr at the Al Saada Sports Complex. Al Rustaq enter the game boosted by their recent win and sit in seventh place with 3 points, while Al Nasr are fifth with 4 points, earned from a win, a draw and a loss.
The first three rounds of the current 2024/2025 Omantel League season saw 30 goals scored across 15 matches, with 13 goals in the first round, 10 in the second, and 7 in the third. This round is a crucial opportunity for the clubs to strengthen their positions in the standings after the international break, and each team seeks to achieve victory and collect the three points.
