IBRA: UTAS Ibra has welcomed 480 new students for the September intake. Students from various cities across the Sultanate took part in the welcome week. The branch organised several academic and social activities, including talks by Dr Hafedh Al Rahbi, Dr Hilal Al Hajrii, and Shaikh Salim Al Numani.

Dr Hafedh Al Rahbi, Assistant Vice Chancellor for UTAS Ibra, emphasised the importance of embodying Islamic morals and Omani cultural values both on and off campus. Dr Hilal Al Hajri, the head of the Preparatory Studies Centre (PSC), shed light on the new placement test launched this year in collaboration with EnCoach.

This innovative test incorporates AI technology for both creating and marking exams. Dr Hilal also highlighted key regulations regarding attendance and assessment. Shaikh Salim Al Numani also discussed the values and morals that students should adhere to during their studies, sharing insights from both social and academic life.

The new students also took part in their English placement test on September 9, which determines their respective levels. Classes officially begins on Sunday, September 15.
