Muscat: The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (MTCIT) has urged owners/operators of jet skis and recreational marine units to provide a safe environment for customers.
The ministry said that it is not allowed to ride jet skis and marine sports units after sunset and provide life jackets, provide a means of communication for emergency cases.
The operators should not go beyond the designated area for use and provide a rescue crew with a first aid kit.
The operators should commit to a maximum capacity of eight bikes in one location, and monitor and prevent its use in a way that puts individuals at risk.
MTCIT urged that it is necessary to check the weather before the start of any rides.
It is not allowed to ride water bikes and recreational marine units to those under the age of 16, unless accompanied by an adult.
