The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology invites investor to establish an Artificial Intelligence (AI) innovation studio designed to enhance skills and creativity among students and innovators. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to strengthen the integration of AI solutions across various sectors to meet organisational goals.
The ministry’s tender, open to both local and international firms, seeks proposals for the development of programmes that foster AI competencies. This includes workshops, training sessions, and collaborative projects tailored to equip the next generation with essential skills in AI technologies. The ministry emphasises that these programmes will not only serve to educate students but also support existing innovators in optimising their AI applications.
In addition to educational initiatives, the studio aims to facilitate partnerships with different sectors, ensuring that AI solutions are effectively aligned with industry-specific needs. By fostering collaboration, the ministry hopes to create a dynamic ecosystem where innovative ideas can flourish and translate into practical applications that drive economic growth.
A key component of the initiative involves promoting AI knowledge across the community. Interested companies have until September 18, 2024, to purchase the tender documents, with the final submission deadline set for October 15, 2024. As of September 8, four companies have already expressed interest in participating: Siemens Industrial LLC, GIS Hub, Ernst & Young Global Ltd, and Khatib and Alami and Partners Consulting Architects & Engineers and Services.
This tender represents a pivotal step toward positioning the region as a leader in AI innovation and education, ultimately contributing to a more skilled workforce and a robust technological infrastructure.
