MUSCAT: In celebration of the commencement of 'Ryoma Manga Seminar' in Sur, the Arab Tourism Capital for 2024, the Embassy of Japan in Oman, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Youth, hosted a reception at the Sur Grand Hotel on September 1. The event was graced by the presence of Yousef bin Salem bin Nasser Al Mukhaini, Member of the Shura Council representing the wilayat of Sur.
Jota Yamamoto, Ambassador of Japan to the Sultanate of Oman, in his speech, reaffirmed the significant role that manga plays in strengthening the friendship between Japan and Oman. He expressed hope that the seminar participants would excel as ambassadors of Japanese manga. Starting on the same day, the manga seminar organised by the Ministry began at the Youth Centre in Sur. Japanese manga artists Yoshihiro Iwagami and Yuka Yamashita, invited from Kochi Prefecture, Japan, are providing lectures to participants on the art of manga creation.
