MUSCAT: Vulcan Green Steel has recruited 19 Omani engineering graduates from Sultan Qaboos University to be part of its leadership when its major low-carbon steel complex comes into operation at the Special Economic Zone at Duqm. The recruitments are a key component of the company’s Future Leadership Programme, which is dedicated to identifying, training and cultivating the next generation of leaders in the Omani steel industry.


The Future Leadership Programme, integral to Vulcan Green Steel’s strategy for innovation and sustainability, seeks to recruit top talent to drive progress in low emission steel production. The new trainees, selected for their exceptional academic achievements and potential, will be integral to advancing the company’s mission in Duqm, where they will contribute to ground breaking projects and initiatives.


“We are delighted to welcome these talented engineers to our team,” said Yousuf al Reesi, GM – Corporate Affairs and HR at Vulcan Green Steel Company. “Their technical skills and innovative thinking are exactly what we need to lead the low emission steel revolution. This initiative demonstrates our commitment to investing in future leaders who will help us achieve our sustainability goals.” The 19 graduates, who have completed rigorous engineering programmes at Sultan Qaboos University, will engage in various roles across the company. Their responsibilities will include roles in engineering design, process optimization, and technological innovation, all aimed at enhancing the company’s steel production capabilities.


Dr Mubarak al Alawi, Assistant Dean for Training and Community Service, College of Engineering at Sultan Qaboos University, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, “We are incredibly proud of our graduates joining Vulcan Green Steel.
