MUSCAT: Oxy Oman celebrates Phase 6 of the Tasharuk Small & Medium Enterprises (SME) Programme by welcoming Recycling Services LLC into the programme. The company will provide recycling services for Oxy Oman’s field operations. This programme highlights Oxy Oman’s commitment to enhancing recycling and waste recovery efforts within its operations.

Phase 6 of the programme, focusing on "Recycling Waste," aims to reduce the amount of waste sent to landfills and incinerators. This aligns with Oxy Oman’s dedication to innovative solutions fostering a low-carbon future, supporting the Oman Vision 2040 plan for economic diversification.

Oxy Oman established the Tasharuk Program for Omani SMEs in 2013. The programme supports the capacity building of Omani SMEs that demonstrate high potential for maximizing In-Country Value (ICV) and Omani job creation. Over six phases, it has focused on developing and advancing the capabilities of participating SMEs.

The signing ceremony for this new contract with Recycling Services L.L.C was held at Oxy Oman’s headquarters in Muscat, under the auspices of Mohsin Hamad al Hadhrami, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Energy and Minerals. Steven Lauver, President and General Manager of Oxy Oman, and other senior executives were present at the ceremony.

During the event, Oxy Oman also unveiled its new In-Country Value (ICV) logo and identity, "Oxy ICV," with the tagline "Local Excellence. Global Reach." Additionally, “ICV Champions” which is pivotal in promoting and executing In-Country Value contracts that prioritize Oman-made goods and services, were recognized for their contributions.

“The Tasharuk Programme is a cornerstone of Oxy Oman’s In-Country Value strategy, dedicated to fostering the growth and development of Omani SMEs,” said Steven Lauver, President and General Manager of Oxy Oman. “By supporting local SMEs, we are enhancing our operational efficiency and contributing to the broader economic diversification goals of Oman. Tasharuk reflects our unwavering commitment to building a competitive and sustainable Omani supply chain, creating jobs, and driving innovation within the local market.”

The Tasharuk program engages local SMEs and seeks to bridge gaps in Oman’s SME sector, fostering business growth, competitiveness, job creation, and sustainable development. Oxy Oman’s ICV strategy demonstrates efforts by Oxy Oman to increase and improve the sustainable employment of Omani nationals while simultaneously encouraging the development of Omani goods and services with a focus on human resources, technology, business development, and contracting and procurement.
