SALALAH: The 14th Scout Camp for Scouts of Universities and Higher Education Institutions in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries concluded on Thursday in Salalah. Held under the theme ‘Inspiration and Empowerment,’ the camp was hosted by the Sultanate of Oman, represented by the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Dhofar Governorate.

The camp aimed to equip GCC university students with essential knowledge, skills, and leadership abilities, fostering unity and solidarity while highlighting the capabilities of scouts from higher education institutions.

Dr Ahmed bin Ali Al Shahri, Assistant President of the University of Technology and Applied Sciences, Salalah Branch, and Chairman of the Supervisory Committee of the camp, remarked, “The University of Technology and Applied Sciences, in hosting this significant event, played an active role in shaping the future of our youth. We believe that building generations starts from the halls of knowledge and the interactive platforms provided by such camps.”

The camp saw the participation of 250 scouts from 20 Gulf universities, who engaged in leadership, safety, and technology courses, training workshops, lectures, and dialogue sessions. Additionally, the scouts took part in sports and cultural activities and visited tourist and heritage sites in Dhofar Governorate. - ONA
