SALALAH: The Career Guidance and Counseling Symposium concluded its activities on Thursday in Salalah, emphasising the critical role of human resource development, technology, entrepreneurship, and employment in achieving 'Oman Vision 2040' and building a diversified, sustainable economy based on knowledge and innovation.
Organised by the Ministry of Labour, the symposium focused on enhancing the career guidance and counseling system to support sustainable development goals and improve human skills and capabilities.
The final day of the symposium, part of the Salalah Labour Forum, featured two dialogue sessions. The first session, titled ‘Career Guidance and Counseling and the Labour Market,’ discussed the role of career guidance in directing youth towards suitable career paths and the influence of Arab agreements on national systems.
The second session explored new work patterns and their impact on enhancing the competitive abilities of the workforce, as well as the role of future skills and artificial intelligence in shaping the future labour market.
The symposium concluded with a strong emphasis on the importance of career guidance and counseling in supporting sustainable development and enhancing human potential in line with the national competency framework. - ONA
