The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth (MoCSY) and Oman Football Association (OFA) unveiled the details of the national team’s campaign titled ‘We Are All With You’ to support the national football team in their deciding round of the Asian qualifiers to advance and reach 2026 Fifa World Cup.
Addressing a press conference, Mohammed al Amri, General Manager of Sports activities at the Ministry and Campaign Manager, said this campaign comprised four essential parts including: Logistical Initiative, Partnership and Marketing Initiative, Fans Supportive Initiative and Media Initiative. The campaign also represents the collective support as individuals and entities for the national team in the upcoming qualifiers event.“
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth launched the campaign on August 15. The campaign will run during the qualifiers period. During the press meet, the speakers besides Al Amri, Yaqoob al Balushi, campaign’s marketing manager, Nasr al Busaidy, events and fans manager and Younis al Ghafri, member of media team, explained the details of the campaign.
Highlighting each initiative, Al Amri explained that Logistical Initiative will represent rehabilitation works for some facilities of Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex to host the matches. “There will be several improvements to the facilities and services provided to the fans. This include preparing prayer spaces, adding additional parking and organising routes to facilitate easy access and entry for fans to the complex.”
Focusing on Media Initiative, Al Amri said that there is cooperation with government and private entities including: Oman TV, radio stations, social media platforms and influencers to disseminate news about the campaign during the qualifiers.“
"There will be advertising screens in streets, malls, fuel stations and public transport buses in cooperation with Mwasalat. Furthermore, a special song for the national team will be released soon,” he added.
Fans Supportive Initiative
Fans are acting as key factors in any sporting event. “This will be crucial in our campaign in both local and international matches. We have focused our efforts in providing a suitable and positive environment for fans by supplying various supportive tools such as jerseys, flags, and cheering accessories. We are working with our partners to ensure easy access to the SQSC gates, stadiums, and stands, and to facilitate access to beverages and food. To encourage participation from different governorates of society outside Muscat Governorate, we have partnered with Mwasalat and OQ to allocate buses to transport fans from various governorates,” he said.
Nasr al Busaidy said that based on his last visit to Iraq, Gate 14 is dedicated for Omani fans to enter Basra International Stadium while media personnel of Oman will use Gate 13. “The national team official fans group will join the national team in Basra to support the players in the venue. We are working now to specify the gathering points for Omani fans and shortly will announce the focal point who will distribute the free tickets for Oman’s fans. The seating arrangement of Omani fans inside the stadium will be located at the right side of the VIP seating,” he said.
Partnership and Marketing Initiative
“We have sought to establish qualitative partnerships and constructive collaboration with several government and private institutions including the Ministry of Information, Royal Oman Police, Muscat Municipality and Riyada. Several private sector companies have also responded by providing sponsorship and support for this campaign including OQ, Oman Air, Mwasalat and Nam,” Al Amri concluded.
